Zac Efron has started a travel vlogging channel where he goes “off grid”

By Adenekan

US actor, Zac Efron, has started a vlogging channel on YouTube, and is creating a series of videos called ‘Off the Grid,’ where he goes on travel adventures with his brother Dylan. The pair are set to travel the world and get out of their comfort zones together, and in the first video published to the channel, they spend four days visiting Lake Mohave, a reservoir in Arizona.

The Californian actor rose to prominence for playing the role of Troy Bolton in High School Musical, and his most recent films include The Greatest Showman, The Beach Bum and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile. He says that getting out and seeing the world is one of the coolest things he has done in his lifetime. He also thinks that stepping out of his comfort zone and sleeping under the stars helps him to grow as a person.

The trip starts with Zac, Dylan and their gang of six friends leaving their house in Los Angeles and driving six hours to Lake Mohave in the searing heat. Upon their arrival, they get into trouble from an employee for feeding the fish, and they befriend a wild donkey in the water and feed him. The vlog sees the brothers deal with the rigours of camping and making food alfresco, and they are filmed training by the water’s edge and embarking on watersports like surfing and jet-skiing.

They dive into the deep green water from a cliff, hang fairy lights from their tent and light campfires at night. Despite being “eaten alive” by mosquitoes, getting sunburnt from being outdoors all day and sleeping on the bare ground in sleeping bags, Zac has a ball and concludes that “this is what life is about.”
