If dressing up in an outfit inspired by Disney characters is your thing, you could be part of the community known as DisneyBounders. Canadian blogger, Leslie Kay, is author of the DisneyBound blog, and she leads a community of people who enjoy dressing up in outfits that give a subtle nod to their favourite Disney characters.

It all began when Leslie was planning a trip to Disney World in 2023. She put together fashion looks inspired by the Orlando theme park’s most recognisable inhabitants and posted them on her blog, which she called DisneyBound.
She started garnering followers who enjoy creating outfits inspired by their favourite Disney characters in huge numbers. As a result, the community is now estimated to have over half a million followers across all social media platforms.
The outfits Leslie created were based on what the characters might wear when they are going to school or the mall. She told Today that DisneyBounding is a subtle way to dress as your favourite character without being in costume and while sporting your own personal style. This appeals to many people as visitors over 13 are forbidden from wearing costumes in the park.
One of the people inspired by Leslie is Chelsea Watson, who posts photos of her own Disney-inspired outfits on her Instagram account, @styledbymagic. Chelsea says that while her outfits don’t always have anything directly to do with Disney, fans will be able to see the inspiration there.
Then there’s California style and beauty blogger, Jill Kaplan, who has a popular @disneygirlbeauty Instagram account. She says that she enjoys incorporating elements of style inspired by her favourite Disney characters into her outfits.
“DisneyBounding helps adults who love Disney bring that magic home,” she told Today. “It’s also sort of like a secret club — Disney fans can tell who you are bounding as, but no one outside of the Disney community will really notice.”
