Tuxedos are included in this $10,000 luxury Dumb and Dumber hotel package

By Adenekan

It may be nearly 15 years old but Dumb and Dumber still has the status of iconic American comedy. Now it’s getting a very luxurious reincarnation as a US$10,000 hotel package in Colorado.

The Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver is known for over-the-top homages to pop culture with themed rooms and floors. So far, they’ve covered everything from Star Trek, video games, The Shining and Ghostbusters. Now they’re upping the stakes with this ridiculously luxurious package for two people.

The ‘Dumb and Dumber: Lloyd and Harry Meet the Curtis’ package give you two nights in the hotel’s King Deluxe room where you’ll find two tuxedos and matching top hats one waiting for you; one bright orange and the other powder blue.

The tuxedos are optional on the next leg of your journey; transportation to and from the slopes of  Aspen on a luxury jet, where a large part of the movie was filmed. You’ll also be gifted two pairs of handmade Icelantic Nomad 95 Skis, decorated with the Denver skyline. SUV transportation to Aspen Mountain will be included, as will single-day lift tickets and a 12-pack of local beer will be waiting for you on your flight back.

You won’t want to spend all your time hanging out on the slopes either. Included in the package is a voucher for three hours of moped rental to zip around Denver city. You also have a US$100 voucher for the Corner Office bar and restaurant and US$200 to spend in the Oxford Club spa and salon. You don’t need to rush to finish your weekend either as naturally, a late check-out on Sunday is included. The package must be booked at least two weeks in advance and runs until 21 April 2019.

As for the inspiration, General Manager Ed Blair told Lonely Planet it was matter of local pride. “As Denver’s only hotel dedicated to pop culture, of course Dumb and Dumber is one of our favorite Colorado ski movies”, he said. “We wanted to have some fun and create a new experience where guests could enjoy a luxurious urban getaway combined with some fantastic Aspen skiing, while also celebrating some cool local companies like Icelantic and Aspen Beer Co.”
