Emirates has launched a new function on its app that will allow travellers to create their own entertainment playlist ahead of the flight and then sync it to their seat once they’ve boarded the plane. That means, you won’t have to waste any time on board flicking through titles, you can make every minute in the air filled with something to watch.
Emirates’ in-flight entertainment system has also hit more than 4000 channels of on-demand entertainment. That includes a catalogue of more than 1000 movies, popular TV box sets, thousands of songs, podcasts and games. There are also expert-led LinkedIn Learning courses and uTalk language courses offering lessons for beginners if you want to be more productive on your flight. If you’re concerned about keeping kids entertained on the flight, there are more than 75 Disney, Marvel, and children’s movies as well as channels like the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, CBeebies and the Disney Channel.
This new capability is available on more than 100 Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft and will be rolled out across the fleet in the coming months. If you’re the kind of traveller who would rather be getting some shut-eye than watching a movie, the app also has a 3D seat map so you can pick the perfect seat for a relaxing.
