The celebrity couple has officially married. They confirmed on their social media accounts that the Western ceremony has now taken place and was officiated by the groom’s father, Pastor Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. The bride and groom reportedly exchanged Chopard wedding rings in the luxurious surrounds of the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the largest private residences in the world.
The grand yellow sandstone palace is still a royal residence but a part of the palace is managed by Taj Hotels. It boasts 347 rooms, which includes suites designed for royalty, a museum, several banquet halls, ballrooms, a library, an indoor swimming pool, a spa and a throne chamber. According to the Bombay Times, a large hall at the palace was decorated with marigolds for the wedding and the theme for the guests was ‘pink, orange and purple.’

The wedding took place on 2 December with pre-celebrations kicking off on 30 November. The couple applied a strict no-phone policy at the main ceremonies and the image rights to the wedding has been sold to Vogue (with the publication confirming last month that Chopra is the January issue cover star) so the intimate details, including the celebrity guest list, won’t be revealed until then.
Chopra (36), who counts Meghan Markle and Lupita Nyong’o, as some of her closest friends, won the Miss World pageant in 2000 and went on to make more than 50 films in India, becoming one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses. Time and Forbes magazines named her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Jonas (26) found fame in a family band with his brothers Joe and Kevin, before going solo and appearing as a guest mentor on the US version of The X Factor.
The couple met at the Vanity Fair’s Oscars party last year and Jonas proposed after just three dates, reportedly shutting down Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store in New York to pick out an engagement ring. Chopra later held her bridal shower there. After a year of dating and a four-month engagement, the multi-day celebration (with separate Western and traditional Hindu ceremonies) took place this weekend, culminating in an evening dinner and extravagant nighttime firework display.
On Instagram, the couple said “one of the special things” about their relationship was the merging of their families, faiths and cultures.
