Now that 2019 has begun, travellers can start planning the ultimate trip for the year ahead. To help, travel booking site Kayak has released its 2019 Travel Hacker Guide for US travellers. This includes a new list – When to Fly – which lists the destinations offering the best flight deals month-by-month for 2019. While there are plenty of options depending on when you want to travel, here are the destinations with the best deal for each month.

January – Osaka, Japan
With its reputation for incredible food, travellers considering a trip to Osaka may want to plan fast. Japan’s third largest city has seen a 35% drop in flight prices for US travellers in January, with a median airfare of US$652 (€572).
February – Ontario, Canada
Whether you want to explore Toronto, Canada’s biggest and most multicultural city, or get out and see the many beautiful national parks, Ontario has seen a 21% drop in flight prices for February with a median airfare of US$259 (€227).
March – Melbourne, Australia
Love coffee, culture and coastlines? Australia’s capital of cool has seen a 16% drop in price for March with a median airfare of US$1004 (€882).

April – San Juan, Puerto Rico
As Puerto Rico continues to bounce back following Hurricane Maria, travellers may want to plan their visit for April, when prices will drop by 31% with a median airfare of $256 (€224).

May – Santorini, Greece
This idyllic Greek island will never cease to captivate travellers. May might be the best time for US travellers to go, as the island will see 45% drop in flight prices with a median airfare of US$743 (€652).
June – Albuquerque, New Mexico
With incredible landscapes and tasty New Mexican cuisine, travellers may want to consider Albuquerque in June. There’s been a 28% drop in flight prices with a median airfare of US$297 (€260).
July – Charleston, South Carolina
This southern city will be luring in tourists this summer as flight prices will drop by 19% drop and cost an average of US$272 (€238). It’s also a great starting point for travellers who want to explore the state’s many incredible beach towns.

August – Reykjavik, Iceland
With its long sunny summer days and epic landscapes, August might be the perfect time to stop in Iceland. Flight prices will drop by 23% and cost around US$440 (€386).
September – Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
If you want an incredible island getaway, look no further than the Big Island in Hawaii for that end-of-summer trip. Flight prices are dropping by 32% and will cost about US$403 (€354).
October – Belize City, Belize
Start a fall journey to Central America by heading to Belize. Belize City will see a 25% drop in prices with a median airfare of US$385 (€338).

November – Brussels, Belgium
If you’re looking for beer, frites and waffles, then start planning your November trip to Brussels. The beautiful historic city will see a 22% drop in flight prices with a median airfare of US$547 (€480).
December – Calgary, Canada
This gateway to the Rocky Mountains is perfect for a winter holiday. In December, US travellers will find a 27% drop in prices with an average cost of US$312 (€274).
