The airports rated top in the world for wellness have been revealed

By Adenekan

Travelling through airports can be a stressful, busy experience, so it’s good to know which ones are making active efforts to help passengers passing through feel healthy and well. New research from flight and travel comparison site, Netflights, has revealed the top 25 airports around the world that are leading the way on this front.

It scored each airport on the quality of its spa or gym facilities, dedicated meditation or quiet spaces, yoga studios or classes, relaxation zones, outdoor or green space, prayer rooms, access to massage and running tracks. On the basis of its scoring, Frankfurt International Airport in Frankfurt took the top spot, thanks to facilities like its dedicated silent chairs, spa facilities with a range of treatments, and an open-air rooftop terrace where passengers can get some fresh air and sunshine before a flight.

Vancouver International Airport, Vancouver 7. John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York 8. Haneda Airport, Tokyo 9. San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco and 10. The study found that 17 of the airports have spas that include facilities such as haircuts, anti-jetlag facials, manicures, pedicures and waxing, while 13 give access to massage services. Dedicated meditation and quiet spaces for relaxation were rarer, with just nine airports providing them. There are dedicated prayer rooms in 23 airports, but some, including Dubai and Hong Kong, also have religion-specific rooms. For travellers who feel like a healthy stretch before boarding, nine airports have yoga facilities and/or classes.
