Inspired by the African safari experience, Under Canvas company founders, Sarah and Jacob Dusek, set out to create an immersive outdoor escape. They began in 2009 with the opening of an all-inclusive glamping adventure package, and the company has now grown to include seven luxury glamping resorts near some of the most beautiful national parks in the US.

Located 25 minutes away from the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, this glamping site’s amenities include daily housekeeping, fresh towels and linen, king-size beds, charging stations, en-suite bathrooms, dog beds and even a wood burning stove for chilly nights. It also offers Grand Canyon activities, including private hiking tours, jeep safari tours, guided biking trips, group day hikes, sightseeing day tours, horseback riding, helicopter tours and private national park tours.

There are a range of tents on offer, including the standard safari tent and the “Stargazer,” which has its own viewing window above the bed and a private bathroom. There’s also a communal “lobby tent,” which hosts an onsite restaurant called Embers. Lodging rates start at $149 (€132) per night, and the site will re-open on 25 April 2019 and run until 17 November.
