If you prefer a lifestyle that focuses on the bare necessities, then you might want to consider this 14-acre nudist retreat in New Zealand that just went on the market.

Katikati Naturist Park is on the market with a business lease for NZ$380,000 (£202,349/US$254,360). It’s located in the North Island on the Bay of Plenty, an area famed for its spectacular beaches and one of the most popular summer holiday spots in New Zealand. Coffeys, the tourism property brokers managing the sale, say the retreat has a “distinctly European feel about it” and describe it as an “oasis of rural peace and tranquility.” There’s a river bordering the northern end of the grounds, which is said to be “perfect for skinny dipping,” as well as a swimming pool, Jacuzzis and a sauna.

There are a number of property types on the nudist park, including a fully self-contained motel-style unit, three self-contained units, four kitchen-only cabins, 51 powered sites for caravans or campers and up to 40 tent campsites. Prospective buyers can live on site where the owner’s three-bedroom residence and reception area is located just at the park entrance. A storage shed and workshop are also close by.

Recreational facilities include a nine-hole mini golf course, outdoor chess and draft board and badminton. According to the property listing, other facilities include “clean, well-maintained bathrooms and showers” and internet service. When it comes to dining, there are two “well-equipped kitchens” and an outdoor wood-fired barbecue. There’s also an on-site cafe, open at the weekends where nudity is optional, but not essential. The town of Katikati is just 3km away where guests can stock up on essentials.

Coffey’s say the park attracts naturist travellers year-round and has a “strong international profile and loyal local clientele.” Overnight rates at Katikati Naturist Park currently range from $55 (£29/US$37) to sleep in a caravan and $130 (£68/US$87) for a motel room. The park’s privately owned, but affiliated to the New Zealand Naturist Federation and the Tourism Industry Association of New Zealand.
