Forget Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for a moment, because another exciting phenomenon has arrived in Disneyland, California. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes has opened in the Downtown Disney District, so fans of the CrazyShake milkshakes that have become a sensation in New York can now enjoy them there.
Black Tap’s famous CrazyShake menu includes the original flavours like Cotton Candy, Sweet n’ Salty and Brooklyn Blackout, with the addition of the latest flavour only available at the Anaheim location, the Strawberry Shortcake Shake. This new addition starts off as a strawberry shake with a vanilla frosted rim with crumbled cake, and it’s topped with a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar, pink twisty pop, whipped cream, strawberry drizzle and a cherry on top. In addition, the Crazyshake Bar will give customers an up-close view of Black Tap’s famous milkshakes in the making.
The burger, shake and beer joint offers a casual vibe reminiscent of a classic American luncheonette with a distinctly New York feel, but for the first time, orders are taken at a counter. Guests seat themselves, and their orders are delivered to their table. Black Tap Anaheim features an all new “Shake Window” where guests can order CrazyShakes and classic milkshakes to go. There is also an outdoor seating area for 60 people, and custom street art designed by local street artist Jason Woodside.
Since launching its CrazyShakes, customers have waited in line for hours at Black Tap to get their hands on one of the highly-Instagrammable concoctions. The restaurant opened in New York’s SoHo neighbourhood back in 2015, and the shakes became Instagram-famous after thanks to their decorative candy mosaics and layers of cream and syrup. The restaurant has also become known for its craft burgers, signature chicken items and a variety of sides, including crispy Brussels sprouts.
