Music rings out again at Elvis Presley’s Graceland with a packed series of concerts

By Adenekan

Fans of live music will have an added reason to visit Graceland in Memphis, the home of late rock ‘n’ roll icon, Elvis Presley, now that it has been announced that it will become a year-round live music and live entertainment destination. In partnership with Live Nation, Graceland Live will host national touring artists and rising stars across the spectrum of musical genres, beginning in 2019.

Graceland Live will take place in two venues, and it has been announced that there will between 50 and 75 shows in 2019, with that number projected to increase in 2020. The first is the 464-seat Graceland Guest House Theater, located within Graceland’s Four Diamond resort. The second is the Graceland Soundstage, located in the middle of Elvis Presley’s Memphis, a 200,000-square-foot entertainment complex that opened in 2017. It features a full city block of museums, restaurants and shops dedicated to the legend of Elvis Presley.

Depending on the artist, Graceland Soundstage can be transformed from a club-like environment to a full-production performance accommodating over 2000 fans. Two giant screens will offer easy viewing from any seat. Graceland and Live Nation say that both venues will give fans a great setting to enjoy an array of artists and groups that not only represent the ever-expanding influence of Elvis, but reflect his love of all music.

“Graceland is already the most famous music destination in the world, and we want to make it one of the most famous destinations to see live music as well,” said Joel Weinshanker, managing partner at Graceland Holdings. “Elvis always cited such a broad range of influences that shaped his music. It is only fitting that we bring an incredibly wide array of styles and genres back to his home and believe the first group of shows we are announcing reflect exactly that.”
