It may not be in keeping with the ‘whole food’ ethos that’s on trend of late, but fans of the stranger things in life – and delicious Asian food – will want to check out the world’s first glow-in-the-dark ramen shop.

Nakamura mobile kitchen is a pop-up kitchen that seats just six diners at a time for 30 minutes, where they’ll be served up luminescent ramen, accompanied by spooky glowing cocktails. The dining experience is more than just Insta-worthy food however.
Once your dinner finishes, you’ll also get free access to an after-party that is held every night in a “fully-immersive environment” filled with performers. If your appetite isn’t sated yet, you’ll also be able to continue dining on an a la carte menu of dumplings, desserts and cocktails.

The crazy-looking food also comes with a rich backstory. Five hundred years ago, the Nakamura are said to be a family of spirits who serve ramen to other spirits. When the parents of this family were separated from their children, the ramen shop closed but recently their children have met each other in spots all over the world. When they do, a mysterious force appears and creates an enchanted, glowing ramen.
The Nakamura mobile kitchen is taking over two locations in Atlanta between 30 January and 2 March. The dining experiences are sold out but you can still pay $10 (€8.80) to get into the nightly party. If you’d like to follow their progress, you can sign up for updates on their website to be the first to know if the kitchen pops up elsewhere.

You may still have a chance to experience the unusual noodles for yourself. Dashboard U.S. told Lonely Planet that they have “tentative plans” to bring the experience to Los Angeles, London, Miami, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney, and Dubai in the future.
