With the eighth and final season set to premiere on 14 April, HBO has created a new marketing campaign, called “Quest for the Throne”. The company has hidden six Iron Throne replicas around the world and is challenging the show’s fans to find them, with the adventures documented on social media using the hashtag #ForTheThrone.
6 Thrones.
6 Locations.
Who will be the first to find them?

The first one, called “the Throne of the Forest” was unveiled in photos and video posted online, showing it in a mossy forest. With just that information, fans were then tasked with tracking it down. Though it may seem like trying to find a needle in a haystack, two fans already managed to track it down in Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean in the UK – a forest that’s already famous with Harry Potter fans after Deathly Hallows was filmed there.
After the first was found, HBO has released photos and video of the new thrones, this time showing one in a very icy location and called “the Throne of the North”. It looks like fans have already located the latest throne in Sweden.
