If you develop a thirst while visiting Disneyland Resort in California, you’ll be glad to hear that the first-ever brewery has opened there and it is selling 50 different craft beers. San Diego-based Ballast Point Brewing Company has opened a 7000-square-foot restaurant and bar in the Downtown Disney District, complete with an open-air bar and large outdoor patio.

This family-friendly eatery has a nautical theme and its rooftop features festive lighting and cabana-style seating, all offering views of the Downtown Disney District. The main bar wall is inspired by the hull of a ship, and it has a bistro wall of sketches from Ballast Point’s resident artist, Paul Elders, which illustrate labels of notable beers over the years, from haunting seaworthy skeletons to a mystical octopus.
Ballast Point will offer more than 50 styles of its craft beers across 100 taps and is creating speciality brews which will be exclusive to the Downtown Disney District. Its brewpub-style food menu includes gluten-free options, vegetarian dishes, desserts and child-friendly options. It will donate $1 for every kids meal ordered to No Kid Hungry, a national organisation providing children with nutritious food options.

The opening of Ballast Point is the latest in a line-up of newly-unveiled restaurants, shops and entertainment venues in the Downtown Disney District. This includes the re-imagined World of Disney, Salt & Straw scoop shop, the re-designed Wetzel’s Pretzels, renovated Naples Ristorante e Bar and Napolini Pizzeria. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes is also coming soon.
