With Netflix’s hit supernatural thriller Stranger Things due to return to our screens this summer, people are getting pumped to take another step into The Upside Down. And with that in mind, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights 2019 are unveiling brand new mazes inspired by seasons two and three of the critically acclaimed series.

Beginning on 6 September in Orlando and 13 September in Hollywood, the events will see horror fans getting seriously spooked as they wander through film-quality sets packed full of surprises. This year’s mazes pick up where the last one left off, continuing the storyline where a predatory entity terrorizes the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, and brings guests into the parallel universe known as The Upside Down.
Both mazes will parallel the show as it leaps forward to 1985, and have been created in partnership with Netflix as the executive producers to create an authentic experience. Last year’s maze proved incredibly popular, and included a recreation of the Byers’ living room, Hawkins Laboratory and of course, The Upside Down itself.
Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights has been running for more than 25 years and sees guests from all over the world attending multiple movie-quality mazes based on iconic horror television shows, films and originals stories.
The streets at each event are transformed into themed scare zones where actors lunge out from every darkened corner. According to Universal, the Stranger Things maze is just one of the offerings at this year’s event, with more details due to be announced soon.
More information on this year’s Halloween Horror Nights is available at the official website.
