Fans of the music legend Kate Bush have a chance to pick up some merchandise for a good cause at a pop-up shop in London.
The store will launch at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross and run from 5 to 9 December, with all of the profits from sales going to the national homelessness charity Crisis. Famous for hits like “Running Up That Hill” and “Wuthering Heights”, the new shop coincides with the release of newly remastered versions of her music catalogue and the publication of the lyric book ‘How To Be Invisible’ by Faber. If you’re looking for the perfect gift for a Kate Bush fan, the shop will be offering up the vinyl, CDs and book, as well as some exclusive special items.
Bush said in a statement: “I can’t imagine how it must feel to be homeless. Our attention is drawn to this tragic issue at Christmas when most of us can share the celebrations with those we love but, of course, homelessness is there all year round – all the time. It must be so frightening. Without charities like Crisis, who would people turn to? Who would help? Where would the hope of a future come from? I hope this pop-up shop will raise some money for Crisis and raise more awareness of this life-saving charity.”
The store is located in a space at 108 Lower Stable Street, a sunken street within the new Coal Drops Yard shopping district. The recently opened shopping centre is in a building that once served as a coal yard that later became a go-to spot for the 90s London rave scene.
If you want to experience even more Kate Bush, she recently contributed to a permanent visitors trail connecting the Brontë sisters’ birthplace in Thornton, the Brontë family parsonage, and the Brontë Parsonage Museum at Haworth.
