A Good Omens-themed secret experience will open in London

By Adenekan

If you’re living in anticipation of the forthcoming new Amazon Original series, Good Omens, adapted from the popular 1990 novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, you’ll be in for a treat in London in June.

The six-part adaptation of Good Omens is a comedy story of the world hurtling towards the apocalypse, with only the unlikely duo of an angel, played by Michael Sheen, and a demon, played by David Tennant, to stop it. In celebration of its launch on premium subscription streaming service, Amazon Prime Video, on 31 May, an immersive experience and exhibition will open to the public in London.

Taking over a five-floor Victorian townhouse in the heart of Soho, the event will immerse fans in the weird and wonderful world of Good Omens. The free-to-enter experience will be set in the house on Greek Street, which will be disguised as a Soho bookshop, A.Z. Fell and Co., the infamous shop at the heart of the bestselling novel. Modelled on Sheen’s character Aziraphale’s run-down bookshop hideout, the unassuming facade might well be overlooked by those not in the know, although the show’s 1934 Bentley Derby Coupe parked outside may provide a hint.

The experience will include an escape room, immersive performance and interactive sets.

However, it will quickly become clear on entry that this is no ordinary bookshop. Fans will be given the chance to explore immersive set replicas, take on an escape room challenge starting in a recreation of hell and explore a rich array of props and costumes from the show. They will discover original artwork and on-set drawings from acclaimed portrait artist, Lorna May Wadsworth, and there will be immersive performances, hidden treasures and other surprises.

The experience will be open to the public on 1 and 2 June at 19 Greek Street, and entry to the exhibition elements will be through walk-ins. The Escape Room experience, which lasts approx 30 minutes, will be ticketed through EventBrite, and tickets are available to book here.
