French fashion designer Jacquemus celebrated its 10th anniversary with models cruising down a hot pink catwalk that unfurled through lavender fields in Provence. The setting made it the most talked-about moment of this seasons’s men’s fashion week; inspiring us to search out similar spots this summer.

Provence, France
The best place to find lavender is in Provence in the south of France, with Luberon and Valensole (site of the Jacquemus show) some of the most popular regions to visit. Head there between June and July, as most of the lavender is harvested by August.

Every summer Oregon transforms into a fragrant, purple patchwork quilt. Most of the state’s lavender farms are open to the public with festivals usually celebrated every summer. Head to Oregon Lavender Trail for more information.
Hokkaidō, Japan

In the region of Furano in Hokkaidō, lavender fields attract large numbers of visitors every summer when the plants are in full bloom. The majority of lavender usually starts blooming in late June and reaches its peak from around mid-July to early August.

Castle Farm in Kent is the largest producer of lavender in the UK. The public can access its lavender fields through The Hop Shop at Castle Farm (which sells lavender, cherries, strawberries and other seasonal delights) through paid, guided tours.
Tasmania, Australia

One of the best places to see lavender in Australia is Bridestowe Lavender Estate, one of the world’s largest lavender farms. At Bridestowe they harvest the same lavender that’s grown in Provence (confusingly called English lavender even though it’s native to the Mediterranean).

In Serra do Mar, in São Paulo, the city of Cunha is famous for its waterfalls, its ceramics and, its sweeping, perfumed, lavender fields.
