London is getting its first non-alcoholic cocktail bar and it will be located in Seven Dials, Covent Garden. It will be part of Redemption Bar, which serves healthy food and has two other locations in Notting Hill and Shoreditch. While the other two locations serve alcohol, this new venue is going down the non-alcoholic route and is opening in December.
Redemption was founded by Andrea Waters and Catherine Salway in 2014, and they are the authors of a cocktail book, ‘Redemption Bar: Alcohol-free cocktails with benefits.” The cocktails on offer at the new bar have all been developed in-house and will include favourites like the lychee and yuzu martini, pious pina colada, apple mockjito and frozen pineapple margarita. The new venue will also sell a range of non-alcoholic beers, wines and champagnes, and will offer kombucha on tap.
The new bar will be located within the Neal’s Yard and Shorts Garden space in Covent Garden, and the premises will include a 45-seat restaurant that will specialise in vegan and gluten-free food. There will also be a takeaway section. Demonstrating the appetite that exists for this type of restaurant, the capital was raised through a crowdfunding campaign that raised £311,270 ($396,527). Designed by Atelier Khan, its finishes will include teal velvet, marble, brass and a touch of coral, neon pink.

“Redemption is a place where people can socialise free from all the usual toxins and temptations: alcohol-free, 100 per cent vegan, sugar-free and wheat-free,” said Andrea and Catherine. “We strive to provide an environment where you can’t make a bad decision for yourself or the planet.”
