If you’re looking for something new to do during your summer holidays in Northern Italy other than touring the Call Me By Your Name movie locations, there’s a new experience in Milan that has all the summery and chic vibes you desire.
The Bvlgari Hotel has just launched its new experience, a “reimagining of the classic summertime picnic,” taking place in the hotel’s garden, in the middle of the very central and extremely picturesque Brera neighbourhood— the same one of the famous Pinacoteca, arguably Milan’s most famous art museum.
You can get a basket serving from two to six people at lunch and at dinner, and then sit around in the garden for a relaxing picnic on the grass— enjoying both the shade as well as a rétro games room equipped with table football, playing cards and backgammon pieces.
The picnic experience has a menu designed by the hotel’s chef, Niko Romito, in collaboration with Dom Pérignon, who is providing the bubbles for the occasion. The menu consists of lobster, avocado tramezzini, macaroni frittatas and shrimp, as well as reinterpretations of classic foods like the Milanese cotoletta and the Sicilian arancino. All dishes are fresh and light, thought especially for summer and allowing guests to get “a taste of the season, Italian style”.
