Welcome drinks will include a peach bellini cocktail or prosecco for those of age (non-alcoholic options are also available), which will be served shortly after departure, followed by a hot towel service to freshen up. The new and improved meal service will include premium mix-and-match appetisers, main courses, and, dessert, served with custom dinnerware, upgraded cutlery and placemats.

Delta has long offered free beer, wine or spirits, and recently prosecco, on all international long-haul flights, but now, cabin crew will offer passengers another coffee or wine shortly after their meal. And just before landing, the team will come around with a final hot towel service and free chocolates.

Delta has made a number of upgrades to cabin service in recent years, such as introducing free meals to some domestic flights, free in-flight text messaging and free prosecco for all international travels. Just last month, the airline upgraded its amenity kits in all cabins and even added luxe brand Le Labo toiletries the first-class kit.

The new first-class treatment for economy passengers starts in November and will be available in all on long-haul international flights (six-and-a-half-hours or more).
