There are endless incredible places to visit in Asia Pacific, but travellers looking for the best spot for 2019 need look no further than Margaret River and Southern WA, according to Lonely Planet.
The Australian region took the top spot in the fourth annual Best in Asia Pacific, which was expanded this year to include Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. The new list sets out the ten best places to go in the next 12 months – providing endless travel inspiration for anyone looking to plan a trip.
Why Margaret River and Southern WA? “Take one look at Meelup Beach and you’ll wonder where it’s been all your life: the West Australian bush parts to reveal ocean the hue of a Bombay Sapphire bottle, which is typical of the coastline stretching from Margaret River to the state’s south. Beyond the sand, some of the country’s slickest wineries, breweries and restaurants lie between tracts of tall-tree forest and kangaroo-dotted farmland.”
While there are endless reasons to visit, European travellers have increased access to the region, as there are now direct flights from London to Perth.
The full top 10 is: Margaret River and Southern WA, Australia; Shikoku, Japan; Bay of Islands & Northland, New Zealand; Singapore; the Cook Islands; Central Vietnam; Fiji; Palawan, Philippines; Beijing, China; and Cambodia.
