If you tend to miss your dog while on holiday, a hotel in Bali is offering “puppy therapy” sessions that may be able to help you with that if you stay there.

Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud has partnered with a local dog rescue, Bali Dog Association, a charity working to end the suffering of street dogs on the Indonesian island. It brings several puppies to play with guests twice a week.

The “puppy therapy” sessions are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. It’s a win-win situation because guests get to have fun and relax, and it has been proven that spending time with dogs really does help to lower stress levels. The puppies receive some love and learn social skills in return.

The hotel sets up a small enclosed area by the pool at Puri Garden, where guests can sit and play with the rescue puppies. The area is penned in so there are no canine escapees and dogs toys are also provided.

Aside from puppy-cuddling, there’s also free daily yoga classes and breakfast on offer, and guests can sunbathe by the pool, have massages and lounge in hammocks. The hotel also puts on barbecues, traditional Balinese dance performances and movie nights.
