If you believe the best part about travelling is meeting new people, then you may be interested in Bumble’s new job offering.
The dating app is looking to pay someone to travel the world for a year and make connections in business, friendships and maybe even romance. You’ll get to visit the likes of Australia, Canada, India, Germany, Mexico, Norway, the United Kingdom and the USA with all expenses paid for up to a year.
The ‘Global Connector Bee’ role involves you making new friends, networking and even going on a few dates, while sharing your experiences, no matter how awkward, on social media and in blogs and vlogs. Basically, you’re being paid to travel the world, use Bumble’s Date (dating platform), BFF (friendship platform) and Bizz (careers platform) services and write about how you get on.
As Bumble explains: “The ideal candidate will be an excellent content creator and self-editor across many mediums (blogs, social media, etc). This creator should have a large portfolio of varied work that includes all types of written content.”
Even though it sounds like a vacation, it isn’t one. Essentially Bumble is looking for a candidate that can handle the hustle while producing engaging, thoughtful stories. You’ll need to file copy across different time zones and “proactively communicate times you may be unavailable, and respond to requests in a timely manner.”
But if you’re passionate about travel and meeting new people, it won’t feel like too much of a slog. The company says it’s looking for someone who has “a love of travel and a desire to see far-off places,” who is a “social butterfly” and “unafraid to hustle, hustle, hustle!” You can find the full job description on the Bumble website here. Application deadline is 14 June.
