Just three weeks after Meghan Markle gave birth to their son Archie Harrison, Prince Harry will travel to Rome to take part in a charity polo match. The Sentebale Polo Cup will take place at the Roma Polo Club on 24 May. It aims to raise funds and awareness for Sentebale, the charity founded by Harry and Lesotho’s Prince Seeiso in 2006 to provide education, care and mental health support for children and teenagers living with HIV/AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.

Sentebale means ‘forget-me-not’ in Sesotho and was chosen as a reminder never to forget the vulnerable children and young people in southern Africa. The charity was also named in honour of Diana, Princess of Wales, whose favourite flowers were forget-me-nots.

It’s the first time the charity polo match will be played in Italy. Previous games have been held in Abu Dhabi, Florida and Singapore. Last year it was hosted at the Berkshire Polo Club in London, where Harry was cheered on by his wife Meghan from the royal box. She also presented Harry with a trophy after his team clinched victory to become 5-4 winners.

Meanwhile, a series of reports have suggested that the new parents will take their infant son Archie on his first official foreign tour in October. Royal reporter Roya Nikkhah revealed in the Sunday Times that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would take Archie on a short trip to Africa, taking in some Commonwealth nations that have close ties with the UK. Buckingham Palace hasn’t confirmed the reports but if they’re true, Archie will become one of the youngest royals to go on an official tour.
