Harry Potter fans won’t want to miss Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, the newest rollercoaster to hit Universal Orlando Resort this summer. Full of twists, turns and thrilling special effects, it will transport guests to a world where magical creatures like centaurs, Cornish pixies and three-headed dogs roam free.
Launching in June, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a rollercoaster that aims to give guests an experience rather than a fright. So instead of just plunging riders into the abyss with fast tracks and steep drops, this one aims to tell a story by taking guests on a journey with Hagrid – one of the most beloved characters from the Harry Potter films – into the Forbidden Forest to discover some of the wizarding world’s most unusual creatures.
Ahead of the launch, Universal Orlando has offered guests a sneak peek of some of the rare creatures that will feature inside the rollercoaster, like Fluffy the three-eyed dog, a Forbidden Forest centaur, some mischievous Cornish pixies and the Devil’s Snare, a magical plant that acts like a creepy Boa Constrictor snake. There’s also the Blast-Ended Skrewt, a creature that looks like a giant scorpion and an elongated crab, that was mentioned in the Harry Potter books but never featured on screen.
The ride itself will look like just like the Forbidden Forest in the films. In order to bring it to life, Universal planted an actual forest in the attraction with more than 1200 live trees. It’s topped off with state-of-the-art visual effects, 360-degree sets, mythical creature animatronics and high-speed twists and drops through one of the most mysterious corners of the Harry Potter universe.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventures opens at Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter on 13 June, 2019.
