If you’re looking to spend your next vacation in the lap of California-luxury look no further than Rosewood Miramar Beach. Nestled among neighbors with first-name-only monikers like Oprah and Ellen, it’s no wonder this new Montecito hotel is ultra-luxury at its finest.
Initially built in the late 1870s as a private residence, the purchasing couple loved their home dearly. Wanting to share its beautiful environs with friends and family that they began building cottages to lodge their many visitors. Over time the family made the cottages available to rent for outside guests. During the early part of the 20th century it became a summer resort with families visiting year after year to enjoy the Montecito coast.
Newly-remodeled and reopened, the Rosewood seeks to recapture that spirit of being hosted in a private home. Some 161 guestrooms and suites sprawl across the 16-acre property while the manor house itself boasts three signature suites. Cabanas topped with black & white valances surround one of the two pools on the property while the other has a more playful atmosphere complete with an ice cream and burger shop.
Kids and pets are welcome and stay in luxury as well. Kids have a special program of activities and even special robes and slippers fit for tiny human visitors. And if you have a babe-in-arms, all the amenities of home are at your fingertips, including changing tables, baby bath tubs and bottle warmers. Fur babies are fully pampered as well with special menus, daily walks and an afternoon pet trek should they want to go for a little adventure.
For your wellness needs, the spa features treatments inspired by healing traditions and native plants found along the coast. The Montecito Sage Purification is meant to clear your chakras while re-grounding tense muscles with the earth.
And if all of that isn’t enough, Gweneth Paltrow has her first hotel shop dedicated to her Goop brand of wellness and lifestyle while a fleet of pink fiats have been outfitted with rattan seating to drive you around the property and along the coast. They’ll even pack you a picnic, throw some surfboards on the top and escort you in style to the beach.
