If you love fitness and tiny animals, there’s a new option for you after yoga with lemurs— pilates with small pigs.
Piggy Pilates is a new addition to the Pennywell Farm program in Devon, England. “Combining a stunning Devon countryside location, animals and exercise, and with Pennywell miniature pigs joining in, what’s not to love?”, asked the official statement.
The classes will be led by pilates teacher Harry Parkes, who has designed each lesson to be “welcoming to all” by being relaxed and non-intimidating, but still perfect for reaping all the benefits pilates has on the body. “Pilates has many benefits including improving posture, movement quality, mobility, flexibility, mental cognition and core strength,” Parkes explained.
And with small pigs running around between the mats as the class moves forward, it’s impossible not to have fun. The animals will be free to roam around the participants as they exercise, and since they have a very curious nature, there will be plenty of interactions to be had.
Each class will be followed by breakfast and the chance to cuddle the pig some more. The first of the monthly session starts on 12 May with limited places, so if you’re going to be around Devon and are interested in participating you might want to consider reserving a place.
