If you’re a fan of former ‘Fixer Upper’ stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines, you may want to visit their new coffee shop when it opens in their hometown of Waco, Texas. The popular home improvement duo have also just purchased the ultimate in posh homes in the area – the historic Cottonland Castle.
Work is expected to begin shortly on the eaterie, which will comprise a coffee bar, freshly-baked pastries and an assortment of teas. It is expected to be ready later on in the year. Customers will be able to sit both indoors or outdoor, and there will be a window for those who want to take their items to go. Chip and Joanna will be busy as they are behind the famous retail empire, Magnolia Market. The coffee shop will be another string to their bow on the food front, as they also run the Magnolia Table restaurant and the Silos Baking Co.
As for the castle, the 6700-sq ft stone castle was built in 1890 and it has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Chip and Joanna have long admired the property and have even made attempts in the past to purchase it. They have promised to finish renovating the castle, which stands as a quiet reminder of the importance of the cotton industry that once brought prosperity to Waco. This should be no problem to them, as their HGTV show, Fixer Upper, which ended recently after five seasons, saw them revitalising rundown properties around the area of Waco.
