A Harry Potter-inspired beer festival is travelling across the USA

By Adenekan

Like your brews with a bit of magic? Who doesn’t? With Harry Potter fans now well over the legal drinking age, it’s no surprise that a marketing team has created a craft beer festival that takes inspiration from JK Rowling’s wizarding world.

The Harry Potter Inspired Beer Festival is currently touring cities in the USA and there’s plenty of time to catch one somewhere near you in the coming months. The festivals take over a local event space and create versions of iconic magical locations like Hogwarts Hall, the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley.

Beer-loving wizards and muggles alike can taste more than 20 different types of winter, pumpkin and special holiday beers. There will also be secret cider potions and, of course, adult butterscotch beer. Events have already taken place in Portland, San Diego and Las Vegas and more festivals have been scheduled around the country until May.

As well as some rather magical scenery, there will be photo opportunities with characters, plenty of food to pair with your beer and live music from the Slytherin Sisters and DJ Dumbledore. Of course, plenty of fans have some wizarding memorabilia of their own so if you want to dress up, you probably won’t be the only one.

Tickets start at US$35 (€30), which includes beer samples, and locations will only be announced on Rock Star Beer Festivals Facebook page. All events are strictly over 21s only and you’re advised to be quick if you really want to attend as most of the events are selling out within a few days.
